“Quality for more than one child”

We have been fortunate enough to be the recipients of the 1^st Spring Collection of “hanna-me-downs” from the hanna Andersson clothing stores.  Hanna Andersson’s clothing, made from organically grown cotton, are so well made that they actually outlast one child’s normal wear.  Their campaign asked that customers bring in their “good used hannas” for donation to United Way and in return, they received 20% off their next purchase of “new hannas”.

     Years ago hanna Andersson had a year round program, run by their corporate headquarters in Portland Oregon, called hannadowns that was very successful.  Customers would turn in their gently worn hannas for credit on new hannas.  As a company hanna Andersson would then donate the clothing to non-profits.  Over the years, as they grew, it became too large to manage. They then decided to try a bi-annual donation program.  The new plan is that there will two annual events – a spring drive for all clothing and a coat drive in the fall.  Fortunately, the Spring clothing drive was a huge success for the North Suburban United Way.
