The evening included a silent auction featuring birdhouses decorated by local community leaders, a performance by Glenbrook North High School’s Northwind Woodwind Quintet, and Acts Of Kindness Cabaret’s Back to Basics: Colors, Shapes, Numbers and other Life Lessons. Over $6,000 was raised by the benefit.

Over 100 people were in attendance representing the local business community as well as affiliated agencies, elected officials, board members and volunteers. Marla Friedman, President of the Board, and Richard Rushkewicz, Chairman and CEO of Northbrook Bank & Trust, welcomed the crowd and thanked them for their past support and continued partnership in meeting the health and human service needs of those who live and work in the communities served by North Suburban United Way. This year over $500,000 was invested in local programs. The Campaign goal for 2007 is $550,000.
